Lockdown Learning Stories
Parents and teaching staff are re-visiting a changed educational environment brought about by the Lockdown. The Lockdown environment at this stage holds some uncertainty and maybe even a little anxiety.
What is certain, is that children see the world very differently to the adults and anything new is accepted as an adventure if adults are involved and show confidence to the young learners.
Our school is yet again facing an uncertain lockdown, and Learning from Home packs have kicked into action.
Learning from Home Packs
The contents are individualised and prepared knowing your child’s ability and needs, reflecting true Montessori values. The Learning from Home pack will provide learning materials for 1-2 weeks, after which time, if necessary, it will be updated and prepared a second time.
Learning must not stop and this page is an opportunity for our CMS community to share their Lockdown Learning stories. We encourage our community to share photos, videos or emails with their teacher, so it can in turn be shared with the CMS community. You will read in the CMS Parent Handbook (available in Parent Lounge) about the importance of staying connected during this isolating time. Remember, children see the world very differently to adults and anything new is accepted as an adventure if adults show confidence.
We look forward to receiving news about these adventures and in turn sharing your stories.
Below we see students from our Pelican class who have been doing the preposition cards relating to the African theme which is currently being studied.
Montessori Learning embraces that lockdown learning takes place many different formats and environments, indoor and outdoor, with children as active learners.
