Renaissance in a Pandemic
Currently all news, information, nightmares and future dreams are bombarded by one topic: Covid-19
What is happening as well as the dramatic and sad events experienced by a global population, is the insurgence of kindness and giving. The parents at CMS have been unbelievably generous: we have received empathy and kind words from many; amazing gifts and much support.
We have the best community! A community that cares for each other and is ready to share, even the rare toilet paper. We have a community that stands together and in a time of such stress looks at ways to bring a smile to many.
Our staff have never been so united and ready to work extremely long hours, in fields totally new; just so that their students would have the best supported learning they can provide. Jokes have invaded our daily emails in among the hundreds of notifications. These are a well-received break and a crutch for our mental wellbeing. Staff have demonstrated their incredible capacity to be flexible and creative. Montessori materials are being designed to allow children at home to continue working with manipulatives (even if only as a two dimensional object), for better understanding.
As a leader of this community I am humbled to see the quality of people we work with daily and the supportive parents we are engaged with. Our children do live in a uniquely flourishing environment.
Take great care.
“Nobody cares how much you know until
they know how much you care.”
Theodore Roosevelt
