Renaissance in a Pandemic
Renaissance in 2020
Currently all news, information, nightmares and future dreams are bombarded by one topic: Covid-19
But if we look past the chaos and shock, actually, what is also happening as well as the dramatic and sad events experienced by a global population, is a renaissance of kindness and giving. The parents at CMS have been unbelievably generous. We have received empathy and kind words from many as well as amazing gifts and much support. This has meant the world to us.
The Montessori community shines
We have the best community and school! A community that cares for each other and is ready to share, even the rare toilet paper. We have a community that stands together and in a time of such stress looks at ways to bring a smile to many or even just to one person.
Our staff have never been so united and ready to work extremely long hours, in fields totally new; just so that their students would have the best supported learning they can provide. Jokes have invaded our daily emails in among the other many notifications that we’d rather ignore. These are a well-received break and a crutch for our mental wellbeing, affording a smile or a giggle when we need it. Staff have demonstrated their incredible capacity to be flexible and creative. Montessori materials are being designed to allow children at home to continue working with manipulatives (even if only as a two dimensional object), for better understanding. It has proven once again, that Montessori prepares us for real life.
As a leader of this community, I am humbled to see the quality of people we work with daily and the supportive parents we are engaged with. Our children do live in a uniquely flourishing environment, that is experiencing a renaissance.
Take great care, and a hi5 to being the best that we can be.

they know how much you care.”
