Welcome to 2024 – Term 2 – Wrap Up!
This term has been a busy one for all of us at CMS OSHC. We have explored special events such as Mother’s Day, Anzac Day and Reconciliation Week.
The children were deeply involved in Star Wars activities, including LEGO builds. Some older Cycle 3 children knitted themselves woollen hats to take on Cycle 3 camp. There were some very enjoyable mornings on the hard-court (soaking up the sun as the temperature drops), advanced our drawing skills (with new books requested by the children). The children embraced new cards games – still the most popular activity at OSHC!
The students are now deep into brainstorming more activities in readiness for Term 3. They have opportunities to add their thoughts to our Child Ideas book as the cycle 3s conduct meetings with OSHC staff, and all thoughts are gathered up and documented to guide our OSHC program for next term.
We would like to welcome Scott as a new educator to OSHC this term. Scott is actively studying, and proving to be invaluable with his soccer skills. Scott is enjoying getting to know your children, and loves how excited the children are about attending OSHC, how inclusive they are and observing the beautiful way they socialise.
We hope our OSHC families enjoy the holidays and we look forward to Term 3!

Welcome to 2024 – Term 2
Welcome back to Term 2 OSHC families!
A big ‘Thank You!’ to all the families that attended Vac Care in April. We had a fantastic time running lots of Easter experiences over the course of the week with favorites (according to the children) including pin-the-tail on the Bunny, face painting, craft, craft and more craft including our first experience with Sand Art (flowers). Some of the children wrote a play and then performed it for everyone (with a free dance section at the end, with audience participation) which then resulted in another play written and performed the next day and so on…. Easter Egg hunts were enthusiastically engaged in (3 ways), and Magic Sand art and/or building embraced. The weather wasn’t favorable but we embraced the sunny moments for outdoor play/group games. We look forward to running our program again in June! Bookings open mid-term so keep an eye out for emails/newsletter updates.
Term 2 in OSHC will be an exciting one with Mother’s Day to celebrate, Cycle 3 camp to discuss, and lots of nature experiences to enjoy. As a result of the child surveys we conducted in Term 1 the OSHC children have quite a lot of new sporting equipment to enjoy in the afternoons, with requests for more tennis and cricket equipment, hula hoops and skipping ropes. We hope you and your children enjoy T2.

More from OSHC during Term 1, 2024
We were so excited to see everyone’s happy faces back at CMS to start 2024. This term will be an exciting one with Valentine’s Day to celebrate, St Patricks Day, and Easter experiences to enjoy and plenty of other fun to be had. We also conduct an OSHC survey with the children this term, to gather information on their interests, and to help guide the resources/experiences we have on offer in OSHC. Keep an eye out for photos and more in the next newsletter!
A big “thank you!” to all the families that attended Vac Care in December last year. We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed the week with many, many Christmas/Hanukah themed experiences engaged in with gusto! Dancing, singing, crafts galore and of course, face painting. Jigsaw puzzles made an enthusiastic comeback (we will definitely have plenty on offer in April!).
We will be running Vacation Care from the 2nd – 5th April, bookings to open mid-term, so keep an eye out for emails/newsletters/on the OSHC table for booking forms!
We hope you and your children enjoy T1.

Welcome to 2024 to all of our OSHC families!
This term has been a busy one for all of us at CMS OSHC. We have had a great time celebrating Valentine’s Day, (currently) St Patrick’s Day, and getting ready for some crafty and fun Easter experiences to come. The children’s OSHC survey results helped us to gather information on each child’s interests and make decisions on future planning. Results were interesting with an increase in interest in reading, board games and craft experiences (indoors). Outdoors: any and all ball games are leading the list, followed by time on the playground and social time with the OSHC staff and our friends.
We are deep into planning for our Vacation Care program (thank you to the families that have booked) with a big focus on Easter and outdoor fun.
We hope you all enjoy the holidays, and we look forward to seeing everyone in Term 2!
