Marg

Class Director

Before joining CMS in 2014, I worked as a teacher in both secondary and primary mainstream settings in Queensland and Victoria. Prior to that, I had wide-ranging experience including teaching English as a second language (to adults) and working in the ski, taxi and construction industries.

I choose to work at CMS firstly because I am passionate about Montessori education. When I first set foot in the carpark at CMS I could feel the vibe that emanates from this place and I knew that I had found somewhere special. It is impossible to pinpoint one main reason why I was drawn to Montessori. Everything about it makes so much sense to me.

My role is to create an environment which enables children to construct themselves. As part of that environment, I guide and support the children to follow their own paths in their own time. The things I enjoy most about my work are the relaxed, respectful and homely atmosphere of the classroom and the intellectual challenge of juggling the countless factors which affect a group of more than twenty young people.

I mostly spend my time outside school involved in food preparation, dishwashing and staying up very late reading. I also volunteer my assistance with Nippers (Junior Surf Lifesaving).

Qualifications: International Montessori Teaching Diploma (Lower Elementary), Bachelor of Engineering (Hons), Graduate Diploma of Education (P-12)
